British Council

The British Council were looking for a new homepage design for their Learn English website following the introduction of commercial services such as online learning and personal tutors. Historically their website was a library of extensive free resources, so a move to a more commercial approach was challenging.

I ran workshops with key stakeholders to try and establish the required balance the new page needed to have in terms of keeping their charitable free resources prominent, vs their goals for commercial success.

I really enjoyed working on this project, as finding balance is what good user experience strategy is all about. It’s really rewarding to work with a varied user base and varied organisational goals, and find a way to balance the needs of all.
